IDEAS Assessment - an interest inventory with 128 items about an individual's likes and dislikes regarding activities, school subjects, and occupations. The responses are linked to clusters (not the sixteen DOE clusters) and occupations. The assessment is based on the longer Career Assessment Inventory and is normed for three age groups. Dr Charles B Johansson is the author and NCS Assessments distributes IDEAS. |
Kuder Career Search with Person Match – a career exploration matching the survey-taker's interests with the interests of people who are satisfied and happy in a variety of careers. The results include relative scores on six career clusters. NCASI will create new clusters corresponding to state standards. I do not believe separate reliability and validity studies have been performed on clusters other than the original six.

Skills – self-assessment instrument that uses transferable skills that individuals find satisfying to identify occupations which may interest them. The users prioritize 35 skills they would prefer to use on the job. The program compares the skills to those used in over 500 occupations. The user then receives four reports: Holland scores; Career Clusters rating; 30 Occupations with highest ratings; and ratings for All Occupations. They can view charts that compare their responses to the responses required for an occupation. |
Kuder Skills Assessment – a skills-based instrument resulting in a skills profile that allows career exploration by educational level and career cluster. There are college majors within career clusters, but no information is provided about them.
|
Work Importance Locator – instrument designed to help individuals identify what is important to them in the work environment. Users rank aspects of work which are then linked to six important work-values. They receive scores for each work value and each value is linked to occupations. |
Super's Work Values Assessment – based on 12 work values leading to your work values profile. The results do not link to the clusters.
|
| New Occupation Sort – the sort uses 28 factors often considered in career decision making. The users are asked to identify 10-15 factors that are important in their decision making and then they are asked to prioritize those factors. Then they are asked to use a likert scale to indicate how much they want each factor as part of a job. During the last step, they are asked to use a likert scale to indicate how much they are will to consider having each factor as part of a job. With the results, the users can view occupations on their list, not on their list, and almost on their list. They can view charts that compare their responses to the responses required for an occupation. | |
| O* NET Interest Profiler – relates interests to the world of work. Users read descriptions of the work people do at their jobs and decide whether or not they would like to do that work. They receive a score report that is based in six vocational personality types compatible with Holland 's Theory of Vocational Personality. Each personality type is linked to occupations. | |
| Assessment Link – links the results from other assessments assessment individuals have taken to occupations. This tool links the following assessment results to occupations: Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, Career Assessment Inventory, Career Decision-Making Revised, Career Occupational Preference System, Career Scope, Differential Aptitude Test, Kuder Career Search, PLAN , Self-Directed Search, and Strong Interest Inventory. |
