Financial Aid Deadlines

If you are going to file for financial aid and/or scholarships, you need to be aware of the deadlines for the colleges in which you are interested.   Many scholarships have there own deadlines that you need to be aware of, but each school tends to have its own deadline for financial aid and scholarship consideration.

First a general rule is file for financial aid as early as possible .   Almost all colleges have a Financial Aid office and a place on their web site that provides assistance.   If you can't find a date or deadline there, call and ask.

Here are the dates for some of the colleges around Nebraska , according to what I was able to find on their web sites.   Be sure and check with your school, there can be differences among the colleges within the same university , especially if they control their own scholarships .

Bellevue University - ASAP after January 1; no later than June 30
Chadron State College - January 15 for scholarships; June 1 for your FAFSA
Clarkson College - March 1 for scholarships, varies with program.
College of Saint Mary - November 15 is priority deadline
Concordia College - May 1
Creighton University - April 1 - FAFSA; May 1 - Creighton Financial Aid Application
Dana College - March 15
Doane College - March 1
Nebraska Wesleyan University - Early consideration, Nov15, regular, May 1 - FAFSA asap after Feb 1
Peru State College - As quickly as possible after Jan1, awarding can be as early as Nov 1
U N Kearney - February 1
UN Lincoln - Jan 15 for scholarship consideration, FAFSA before April 1
UN Omaha - February 1 for scholarship consideration
Wayne State College - Dec 1 for scholarships, FAFSA by June 1
