Personal Learning Plan:
The Personal Learning Plan is an electronic portfolio where you can save and organize career information and do academic planning.


Favorites is a place for you to store information and to quickly access it to use in career planning and selecting courses.


Course Planner is used to chart your school career from the sixth grade through college. You map out the courses you plan to take for all your years in school.


Career Plan provides step-by-step planning for you to identify career goals and to make plan for meeting those goals.


Education and Work History allows you to enter or edit your education and work history information. They you use this information to create a resume.
Assessment Tools, Inventories, and Sorts




IDEAS helps you identify your interests and match them with occupations. For each of the 128 items, you choose the response that indicates how much the activity appeals to you. Your responses are then linked to clusters and occupations. You have the option of using the Spanish version of the assessment. (Available as an add-on)




New Occupation Sort is designed to let you say what you know about yourself, your likes and dislikes and to create a list of occupations that match your preferences. The steps of New Occupation Sort are select 10 to 15 factors related to work; select the order of the factors; indicate the level of each factor you want in an occupation; and see the results of your choices.



O*NET Interest Profiler helps you find out what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work. It does this by asking you to rate, on a Likert scale, your interest in 180 work activities. Your scores will help you identify your strongest work-related interests which are related to occupations.




SKILLS helps you identify occupations that match your skills. It also shows you which skills are used by each occupation. The assessment begins with the skills selection process. After selecting your skills, you can see how your skills match the Holland Personality Types, Occupational Clusters, and specific occupations.




Work Importance Locator can help you learn more about your work values and can help you decide what is important to you in a job. It does this by asking you to rank different aspects of work that represent six important work values. When you complete the Locator, you will get scores for six work values. In addition to your scores, you will be directed to a list of occupations that are linked with your work values.


Assessment Link links the occupations, or occupation categories, found in an assessment instrument to the occupations in CIS. Before using Assessment Link, you need to take the test and get the results.



Entrepreneurial Career Assessment Form helps you learn more about entrepreneurs and yourself. You can gain insight into the differences between being self-employed and working for an employer. When you rate your response to each statement, you may understand why self-employment appeals to you.



Undergraduate and Graduate School Sorts describes categories that may be used in choosing a college. It lets you decide which characteristics are important to you and creates a list of schools for you to explore further.


Financial Aid Sort lets you select characteristics that match your educational plans, abilities, and background. Then it creates a list of scholarships and loans for you to explore further.

NCE Career Clusters links Nebraska Career Education's six Career Fields and 16 Career Clusters to occupational information found in 612 for Careers.



Occupations -Get detailed descriptions on over 500 different occupations. Each occupation file contains detailed wage and outlook information, informational interviews, career videos, national and Nebraska specific data.


US Colleges and Universities -Get detailed information about two and four-year colleges and universities in the United States.


Programs of Study and Training -Investigate admission requirements, coursework and other information about instructional programs.


Nebraska Schools -Get detailed information about colleges and universities certified to operate in Nebraska.

Financial Aid -Investigate different forms of financial aid such as scholarships and loans .

Apprenticeships -Find information about Apprenticeships in Nebraska .

Military Employment -Investigate career options in the military .

Job Search- Learn how to write resumes and look for a job.
Keep that Job- Find out real-life skills to help you keep your job .
Self-Employment- Learn how to start and run your own business.
